Latrell by Tay’aria Ebony
I have a friend named Latrell. He’s almost forty now – married with four k**s. When I was little he used to babysit me whenever my usual sitter was busy. He lived in the basement of my aunt and uncle’s house until I was in high school. When I was over there when I was younger, I mostly watched TV. Sometimes we would play board games, but for the most part I entertained myself.
One night my parents were gone until almost three in the morning. My uncle worked the graveyard shift and was at work. My aunt was asleep upstairs. Latrell asked me if I wanted to come down to the basement. I shrugged my shoulders and followed him. The basement wasn’t completely finished. The first half was cold cement. There were laundry machines and a bunch of old boxes filled with old pictures and baby clothes. But, when you walked through a door toward the back, it was a finished bedroom with carpet and heating. The room had a bed, a TV, a dresser, and a closet. Across the room, there was a small kitchen area with a stove, sink, and small fridge. I sat on my cousin’s bed and turned his TV on to the show I was watching upstairs.
Latrell locked his door and knelt down in front of me speaking in a low voice, “I have a secret to show you, but you can’t tell anybody.” Something felt off about the whole thing. My heart jumped. “You have to promise.” I nodded. He said he was going to show me how grown ups kiss. I had to promise to be a big girl for him to show me. He told me to stand in the middle of the room. I walked slowly, nervously glancing at the door every so often as I took off my clothes. While I was doing that, he rummaged through a drawer and pulled out something small. He walked over to me. It was lipstick. He put the red lipstick on my lips and told me it was to make me look more grown up. He sat on the bed and stared at me for a while. I was shaking. I wanted to grab my clothes and run upstairs, but I stayed frozen. He unzipped his pants and started stroking his cock. I started toward the door, but he got to it before me and blocked it with his body.
“It’s okay,” he whispered. He held my face between his two palms and told me it was easy. All I had to do was put his thing in my mouth for a little while. I nodded and got on my knees. I closed my eyes and did as he told me. He guided my head back and forth. I didn’t realize it at the time, but he finished in my mouth. I just knew that it tasted salty for the last few seconds before he was done. He zipped up his pants and wiped the lipstick off my face with a wet paper towel. He told me to put my clothes back on.
I ran upstairs and was shaking so badly it took me what felt like forever to open the basement door. I curled up on the living room couch and stared blankly at the TV. I heard his footsteps coming up the steps and pretended I was sleeping. He sat next to me on the couch and shook me awake. “Tay,” he said. His voice was no longer warm and comforting. It was cold and menacing. “If you tell anybody what just happened, I will kill your parents and keep you locked in my bedroom until I decide to kill you, too. Do you understand me?” I managed to squeak out a small, “Yes.”
My parents picked me up a few minutes later.
